Ten years ago, when Willemijn and Machtelt Groothuis started Rubio, they where the first Dutch impact investing fund. Now there are dozens and that’s exactly what they hoped would happen.

They dreamed of “𝘢 𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘥 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘧𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘴”, where every investor can choose what they want to grow: saving the oceans, improving education, or building a healthier food system. As Willemijn says in the interview: “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘢𝘭 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘰𝘯𝘦, 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘨𝘰𝘢𝘭 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘢 𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘺.”

That field keeps growing: more funds, more capital, more entrepreneurs piling in. The launch of Rubio Fund III is how we’re pushing the movement forward.
